Iconically known as 'Surf City, U.S.A.', visitors to Huntington Beach can enjoy eight and half miles of beautiful sandy beaches, close to world class golf, dining, and tourist destinations, including Disneyland Parks and Catalina Island. Top businesses in Huntington Beach include Boeing, Cambro Manufacturing, Quicksilver and C&D Aerospace. Yet, the main draw for many visitors is Huntington Beach's reputation as Surf City, U.S.A. The US Open of Surfing is held here annually, and “The Wedge”, in Newport Beach, just south of Huntington Beach, also attracts world class surfers.

At Huntington Beach Central Park, you can peruse through Huntington Beach Library, Art Collections and Gardens. The Library, founded as a Carnegie Library in 1914, is a notable piece of architectural history, designed by Richard and Dion Neutra. It houses almost a half-million volumes, including a genealogical reference collection, as well as a theater and gift shop. Huntington Beach Central Park is also home of Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center, which offers guided trail rides through the park. The Bolsa Chica Wetlands, which connect to the ocean, contain numerous scenic walking trails.

Just south of Huntington Beach is Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, where you can enjoy shopping, dining, and movie theatres at South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island. UC Irvine is a few minutes east of Huntington Beach. Disneyland is a forty minute drive east to Anaheim. Huntington Beach is serviced by John Wayne Airport, a half hour drive, or Los Angeles International Airport, about an hour north.

Top Zagat rated restaurants include 25 Degrees, for gourmet burgers in a clubby atmosphere, and Cucina Alessa, for authentic, thin crust pizzas and pastas from Naples born Alessandro Pirozzi. 

South Coast Plaza, located in Costa Mesa, is the largest mall in CA. An upscale luxury shopping center, South Coast Plaza goes far beyond it's anchor stores of Saks, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom. Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, Jimmy Choo, Harry Winston, Herve Leger are amongst the many high fashion couture shops.  

Fashion Island in Newport Beach has dining, shopping, and movie theatres, including Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and Island Cinema movie theatres, (949) 718-4382. Island Cinemas features plush leather seats and some over 21 screenings, where adults can enjoy beer or wine during the movie. 

Irvine Spectrum Center is anchored by Nordstrom, Macy's and Target, as well as an Edwards 21 Movie Theatre Complex and IMAX theatre. This shopping, dining, and entertainment mall has many youth oriented brand name stores.
